Appointments may be made by telephoning 01667 452096 or by calling at the surgery. Routine appointments may be made well in advance (maximum one month), which will enable us to offer you an appointment at a time more suitable to your requirements.
Out of Hours
Please call 01667 452096. This will put you through to the Primary Care Emergency Centre based at the Nairn Town and County Hospital. This phone line shall be answered by a nurse. The nurse will take some details and either give you advice, contact the Doctor, invite you to the hospital or arrange for the Doctor to visit you at your home. Please note that we do not use NHS24, our out of hours service is staffed by doctors from Nairn Healthcare Group.
Telephone consultations with the GP are now very popular. Once the GP calls you back, please be aware that the number will be an 0800 number (Nairn site) or a withheld number if the doctor is calling from the Ardersier site.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
Did Not Attend Policy
Approximately 300 appointments per month are "Did Not Attend" i.e the patient does not turn up for an appointment and does not contact the surgery in advance to cancel/change appointment. The effect of these are:
- An increase in the waiting time for appointments
- Frustration to both staff and patients
- A waste of resources
- A potential risk to the health of the patient
